Mercedes-Benz - 170 S A Cabriolet - NO RESERVE - 1950

Do not miss this opportunity and become the new owner of this very unique Mercedes Convertible! This is an auction WITHOUT RESERVE PRICE. The '170 S' was introduced at the IAA in Hanover in 1949. Still based on the prewar models but improved in many respects. Production of this model took place between May 1949 and February 1955. What’s noticeable compared to the V-series is the position of the spare wheel. It was no longer on the boot lid, but neatly stowed in the boot. The list of variations on the four-door saloon was almost endless. For example, two different convertible versions were included in the delivery programme (the 170 SA & the 170 SB). Production of the '170 S' ended in 1955, after which the 180 series (W120 pontoon) took on the role of volume model. There were 106,927 units built of the Mercedes W136, but only 830 Mercedes 170 S A convertibles were made (between 1949 and 1951) of which only a small number remain. This makes the Mercedes 170 S A a very unique collectible car. The 170 S A was the most exclusive Mercedes from the W136 line. This car is in excellent condition since the recently completed restoration. Restored to a high standard in Sweden. Checked and perfected in great detail. In addition to the complete exterior, the engine, gearbox, suspension, rear axle, brakes, etc, were completely checked. 4-cylinder, side valve petrol engine. Only 102 km driven since the restoration. Extensive documentation of the restoration is available. Perfect for in a collection due to is good condition, it’s also good to drive with it. Guaranteed value stability with the potential for appreciation, especially for a car in this condition with such low production numbers. So don't wait too long and seize this opportunity to become the owner of this wonderful classic, a dream come true for all Mercedes fans.
